Have a chance to buy a 2000 neon le for about 3000 can.
New time belt, alternator, brakes all around, front wheel bearings, trans flushed every 60000km.
Car seems to be in very good shape. I do hear a light clunk in front end a low speeds. Told swing arms have been replace.

Re: 200 neon le

Help with what? The clunk could be struts or mounts going bad or CV joints.

Re: 200 neon le

Want to know if this is a good deal or not. Was told the front end was checked and everything was fine that it was normal for neon?

Well if he went through the trouble to replace ALL of that, just to end up saying "oh that clunking sound is normal" is full of it. And under normal conditions, half of that shouldn't be replaced anyway. It's a good deal for a reason, has new parts for a reason, and is clunking for a reason. Try finding another car that's taken less of a beating.

Re: 200 neon le

The car does have 200000km so timeing etc should be replaced. Is 3000 a good price for neon? I know the car and the owner and I know it is in good shape, just need to know the going rate for a 2000 neon.....

Hmm well 3000 Canadian that's a little over just $2000 U.S., and 200,000 km that's about 125,000 miles... hmm... so I guess IF the car IS in decent condition (now), then that's not too much to ask for a 2000 Neon. Maybe get a second opinion on the car if you have to, but that's a decent price.
