Parts list , Some questions

OK, so the 2G GSX is all apart. The stock side mount with all that rubber crap is off. All the upper and intake pipes are out with that crappy BOV. All the headgaskets belts fluids timing belt, alternator, and more are replaced. The oils are all out too. OK so my questions are:
What oil do I put in the tranny ?
What oil do I put in the deferencial rear ?
Where do I get that intercooler with pipes ( BlackGST) had it but I cant find the thread. What about the upper pipes that go to to the TB and I almost forgot... I need those headers and they are really nice but SS auto crome is selling em. People say that they dont stay chrome for long. I dont care, has any one have fitmen issues or any cracks. I think I got everything. Oh 1000cc injectors and 255lp fuel pump any one. By the way, how much ponies can I squeeze out of that Big 16G ?

Thanks guys, dont tell me search cause I did and I couldnt find anything. Besides I need your help now.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

I'll do what I can, but it sounds like you would benefit most from reading more dsm websites before you mod your car.

For the tranny, I love BG Syncroshift II, expensive, but worth it, good mix of protection and ease of feel.

Intercooler and intercooler pipes can be found anywhere, depends what kind of intercooler you want and how much you want to spend.

Don't buy the SS autochrome header, it's junk, and cracks. The material they are made of just cannot take the heat cycles and weight.

To control 1000cc injectors, you have two choices, dsmlink or aem, both of these are rather expensive, but 100% necessary.

How much power you make with the big 16g depends entirely on your supporting mods. If you have ALL of them including cams and SMIM, you could make around 375 on high boost.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

Thanks for the advises guys

So my question will be revised. I wont have DSMlink for some time. I dont want to spend $600 on a tunning system yet. Whats best injectors to get without DSMlink, and what can stock ones handle ? I am sorry for all those dumb ass queastions but we are currently working on the car and buying stuff and me asking you queastions.

Thanks again for advises.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

sorry, but if you don't have money for injectors and dsmlink, don't expect any real power. The only injectors you can run without fuel management are STOCK, if not, you overrun the system and make your car slower than stock.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

what are you tuning with would be the next question...an AFC? I didnt see anything listed for a tuning device...If you are running an afc i wouldnt go with anything over 660's and If could redo my setup with he AFC I would probably go with 550's. (unless you also get a fuel pressure regulater) If you arent running a FPR and you wont be able to use the 255lph pump...(remember, I am going off the fact you want a cheap tuning device...and an AFC would be cheapest)

Re: Parts list , Some questions

crunchymilk got ahead of me on that ...I didnt understand either, you dont have money for a tuning device...so you dont want to get one? If you slam 1000cc injectors and a 255lph pump on your it, I would be able to run faster than your car if it isnt tuned.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

OK I will explain whas happening. The car is currently getting the following.
Those parts will be in the car before the end of this month.

Oil change
New BOV
Intercooler piping
FMIC
Trans oil change
Headers
Deferential oil change
sparks/wirez
fuel pump
intake system ( the metal ones with filter )
4 nitto tires
4 brembo drilled sloted brakes
ceramic pads

The car currently has:

Big 16G Turbo
Full 3" Apex Exhaust
ACT 2600 clutch
Greddy Profec E-01

I wanted bigger injectors but spnding $600 on DSMlink right now is not a good option since I wanna use the money for other things. I WILL BUY DSMLINK, just not now. So I guess I will leave injectors and DSMlink for later since thats a grand.

Question: the back bumper of the car is black from the exhaust. Now, is it the exhaust or is it burning oil. I dont think its oils since spark plugs are not black or oily, the oil level never droppped for 2000 miles. Can it be running rich or something ? I really cant asnwer why it might be black. Thanks guys
I am gonna take off the front bumper now.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

Your bumper is black because the car was/is running rich. Unburnt fuel out of the exhaust is black, and this is pretty common. Without injectors and a way to control them, you can't raise the boost more than stock, so you won't make much power

Re: Parts list , Some questions

What do you think about this FMIC ? Isnt to big ? Its says less then 10% pressure drop but then gain they all say that. I was trying to find some one your size crunchymilk ( black99GST ) bought one and he said it got the job done even though it was from EBAY. Also blackcrow had bought one and he was saisfied. I want it to get the job done, not some fancy Greddy or whatever name tag on it so I can show off.

sorry I have been a post whore :P. By the way, I just bought one of those metal intakes from EBAY with the dump tube of course.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

your car has headers or an exhaust manifold?

In theory you cant have an intercooler thats too big.

To fix your bumper (the rich mixture) you NEED dsm link, AEM, or an AFC...I would skip the intercooler for now and get dsm link or an afc (afc's are probably only 250.00 now)

Re: Parts list , Some questions

Can I have a shop tune it for me or do I need this thing that bad ? I mean I want to get it just not now. But I guess its better to have it then run rich cause its starting to make me mad all that black smoke.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

most shops can do a street tune for you. When it comes to the intercooler, you can go ebay if you want. Personally, I wouldn't risk it, I just don't trust their products, I would get a well known vendor's, but that's just me.

Re: Parts list , Some questions

Hey now, dont forget megasquirt and ecu plus for tuning. I have an ebay core and I love it. So your going to put headers on your car huh, does that mean your going to shoe horn a small block in there? Turbos belong on manifolds, headers belong on v type engines

Re: Parts list , Some questions

Yes yes I misthinked it. My English sucks anyways. Its because my auto tech class my teacher and almost every one are big block american muscle naturaly aspired cars. So lately I have forgoten some of the inline 4's terms.

Oh by the way, I bought the intercooler too. So now I have a FMIC and a intake system on the way. If it breaks or anything, no big deal since it is hella cheap compared to the $800 next to it.

Cant decide on a BOV.
