Short Ram intake with odd problem
Bought a 99 ex coupe and noticed that the owner before me put a aem short ram intake system on the car. But he also installed an air breather that goes on the valve cover. I've been reading over at honda-tech and some other places and they say it's not really necessary to have the breather. So, i thought wow, it'll be simple to put the tube from the intake back on the valve cover but then i noticed that the intake tube was connected somewhere done around the front of the intake manifold. Any ideas why it's attached down there? Did the intake installation instructions say to do it? Need some help can i don't wan that breather there.

Re: Short Ram intake with odd problem
Basically, connected to the aem intake is a rubber hose. The other end of that hose is supposed to be hooked to the valve cover so deposists from the engine can be burned through the intake. Well, there is a hose coming from the aem intake but it's not connected to the valve cover. It is connected to something behind the head, right around the center of the intake manifold's injectors. I don't know why it's connected there. Is that okay or does someone know why the previous owner hooked it there. The car runs great and no problems. I just want to get rid of the breather on the valve cover that he put on.

Re: Short Ram intake with odd problem
Well, i looked at it and really coudn't find the answer. Looked under intake, engine and emission sections but nada. Thanks for the link though. I did however take a good look at the setup in the car again and here's what i found. Please read closely, this is probably something really simple that i'm not aware of.
The tube coming from the intake right now is hooked on the other end to a another tube right beside the intake manifold behind the head. That tube that it's connected to runs from there to the very edge of the valve cover on the driver side. It goes straight down and looks like it's a hole right into the head. What is this tube for?
