Car update and j-pipe question

Well my car is done...sort of. The j-pipe wont seal to the turbo outlet and I can figure anything out. I've decked the j-pipe and its completly flat, I've tried just using a gasket, I've tried a gasket and sealant and that didnt work. I think if I were to use the same material that is on like the exhaust mani gasket or the oe head gasket that might work since its thicker, but I dont know where I could find a gasket like that, that would work. Any one know of anything that would work or any other ideas?
I was going to so you guys some pictures but my phone is being gay and wont let me upload any and my mom has the digi and she wont be home untill tomorrow so bare with me and I will get the asap

Re: Car update and j-pipe question

If the stock gasket isn't sealing, then either the turbo outlet or the j-pipe inlet needs to be resurfaced. However, we are DSM'ers, and ghetto mofos, so a parts store near you sells gasket material in varying thicknesses that you can cut into whatever shape you please. I'm not saying that's the right way, but it might work.

Re: Car update and j-pipe question

I figured that you would have some input on this. I already resurfaced the j-pipe but I really dont have to resurface the turbo. I guess I will stop down at napa and see what I can find. Thanks man, and like I said I'll post some pics of the work tomorrow

LOL, I didn't even put a j-pipe gasket on. I need to do that... Intresting problem. I wonder if the compressor outlet is warped..

Re: Car update and j-pipe question

I'm thinking its warpped to, but I dont want to/ dont have time to take it all off again to resurface the housing so I'm to get around that. Other than that it runs really bad lol, but I think thats just because I went from 450s to 550s and it hasnt been tuned yet

Re: Car update and j-pipe question

Now I feel like an idiot. I spent 2 hours with 5 gaskets trying to get the damn j pipe to seal untill I relized it wasnt the gasket at all. There was a pin hole leak in the weld on the j pipe So I welded that up, and then a bolt stripped out in the turbo so I had to tap it out and then I didnt have the right size bolt so my car gets to sit for another weekend

Re: Car update and j-pipe question

Well I tapped it out to a 10mm bolt but then I didnt have the right pitch of bolt to thread in so I got stuck. But I'm going to see if I can borrow some 450ccs to make sure everything is fine and dandy and then throw the 550s back in
