loud scraping noise

My left back tire has this loud scraping noise, mostly when i am at a slower mph, I looked at the tire and i can see metal scrapings on the inside of the tire, it is coming from the Rotors? or the flat disk behind the tire, i think my brake isn't rlelasing, or something else, but there is an obvious indentation all around the disk(rotor), snd i am jsut wonder what it might be? please help!!!!

Re: loud scraping noise

You want to get this fixed ASAP. Hopefully it isn't too late already. You may have a sticking caliper and/or slide pins, but hopefully you just have worn brake pads (linings) and it hasn't destroyed the rotor yet.

In other words, it sounds like your brake linings are worn down completely and at a minimum you need new brake pads on the rear and a new brake rotor.
