97 Sunfire 2.4 Signal Control Arm

The signal light switch. The one that controls your signal lights and your headlights, on the left side of your steering column. I've had to replace 2 maybe 3 of these since I got my car (ie within the last 120000 km/3 and a half years) and it's going again. What happens is the headlights don't work when you turn them on, unless you hold the arm like a hair back, as if you're going to flash on your brights if you pull back any further. It's an internal wiring problem right in the control arm if my diagnosis serves correct. My question is:

Does anyone else find this problem to occur this commonly? Has anyone heard of any recalls or fixes for this problem, rather than replacing the stupid thing once a year. It's like a hundred bucks. Not cool.

Nope. Never heard of that problem. Do you have OEM cruise control? If not, I have a new switch I'll sell you for $45 shipped.

Is your cruise control on the signal switch in question?
