'96 s10 blazer fuel pump not working

so the trucks dies miles away from home and i had to tow it back, the fuel pump wasnt werking i couldnt hear it pressurizing when i turned the key so i went out and bought a replacement. Well guess wat it still doesnt work . and now i dont know wat to do. i hear that if the oil pressure drops it automatically shuts the pump down but when i turn the key on right now the oil press goes up to 40 so i dont think its that either any suggestions. i need this truck to go to work soon Im borrowing my grandfathers van and id like to return it as soon as possible. thank you

have you thought about a the fuel pump relay. If that goes, the pump wont prime or even run. But then again, I'm not entirely sure that the newer s-10's still have them. If you have one, they're not very expensive. goodluck.

On the older style, they are up by the firewall on the drivers side. Have no clue, but usuallly are localted on firewall close to that location on other vehicles. sorry i don't have a better answer for ya.
