1988 Legend - Code number 8

I checked the code on my 1988 Legend, and it flashed 8 times, which according to the info I have, means it is the Top dead center position sensor. Does this mean it is the sensor itself, or the pistons? Where can I find the Top dead center sensor. My manual does not show it?
