97-F-250 Powerstroke Dies at idle??

I have a intermittent problem that when I come to a stop the engine dies, it will start right back up but it's so annoying.... Help please!

A friend of mine had this same problem on his 2003 with the 7.3 Liter. The Ford dealer said that a metal crimp on the wiring from the Cam Position Sensor would ground out on the engine occasionally and cause it to die. Sounds like the same thing as you described.

might want to check the fuel filter

maybe your injectors

Sounds like a CPS. (cam postion sensor) starting to go. I would start there, very common..
