Progress on the All-trac

A lot of people have been asking me how the project was going. We are almost ready to drop the engine in. I'm waiting on a timing belt cover and injector insulators and she'll be going in. Here are some pics from tonight.

This is how we started today.. engine still on the stand. We've connected most of the vacuum hoses.. only thing we have left to do here is get the fuel rail attached.

TURBO CELICA PARKING ONLY.. hehe. Me and andy's turbo celicas. We finally moved the alltrac over to the garage so we could prep the engine bay.

Here are a couple pics of another project we've been working on while waiting for parts on the alltrac. This is my friend andy's 91 Celica GT. We put a steel head gasket on and supra injectors. We are using the stock manifold/turbo from my alltrac. She purs like a kitten An intercooler and piping is on the way for it.. then it'll be ready to drive around.

Lots of work to be done.

I thought the enormous tire gap was funny with the engine out.

Me in the engine bay.. C'mon, everyone has a pic standing in their engine bay, right?

The massive transmission + transfer case. It was a pain in the ass to mount to the engine.

Got the engine off the engine stand and on the hoist. Installed my RPS clutch and Fidanza Flywheel.

After some headaches and bloody knuckles and fingers, we got the engine and tranny mounted together.

And we called it a night after touching up a few things in the engine bay. Installed the hood latch hardware and the horn. It's getting close to that time

Nice!

Is that a garage you have in the backyard or something?

Re: Progress on the All-trac

Nice work. Are you going to run a top mount IC or FMIC?

Re: Progress on the All-trac

Wow, that's a lot of progress. Why didn't you get adjustable cam covers? Tuned properly, that should gain a few ponies.

Don't forget to tell him to get the reinforced valve-covers too...it allows the motor to rev like crazy!

Re: Progress on the All-trac

Yeah, thats a garage in my back yard. I'm going with the stock top mount intercooler for now, but will be going to a front mount eventually. I had HKS 264 cams and adjustible cam gears planned but I ran out of money.. I'll have to do that later.

Re: Progress on the All-trac

Wow, that takes alot of dedication. I'm sure alot of mechanics wouldn't even wanna attempt to put that engine back together. Remembering where all the bolts and screws go has got to be a pain in the ass, even with a digital camera.

Hopefully later on you'll get some rims and a paint job. I'm curious as to how much power the car will put out.

Re: Progress on the All-trac

I'd love to do a project like that but as previously mentioned would be tricky and beyond my know how if I were to do it alone. Give us some numbers on what your expecting out of this.

Re: Progress on the All-trac

^stock 3sgte is about 200 hp, but i dont think he is going stock, and big numbers with the stock turbo is hard, im not sure if he has the stock turbo or not, he's gonna need to dyno tune with some sort of fuel and igition control to see some big gains. But, I'll let him tell you about the legendary all-trac/gt-4
