Re: Grand prix gt ?s

You're probably not going to get any significant hp gains without going internal into the engine since you've ruled out any forced air induction mods. How about your CAT. Is it a hi-flow? U-bend delete? A bigger downpipe will help along with headers.

Re: Grand prix gt ?s

you need muffler bearings 50hp increase J/K!! NA engines are only going to breath so hard you could have the biggest exhaust and air inlet ducting but your still going to be restricted by the top end of your engine. A cam would be a good investment along with a port and polish of the heads and lower intake manifold also a good valve job would be nice

Re: Grand prix gt ?s

I think some decals would also add some horsepower...lol

I agree, without forced air induction, you can only get so much out of the NA 3800.

Re: Grand prix gt ?s

You'd be surprised what only 5lbs of boost will do for that little buggy!

It depends or varies. Companies like TOG or SLP claim up to a maximum of 25 hp depending on application, ie whether a GT or GTP.

For example according to TOG dyno tests a stock GTP had 18HP and 16 Ft-Lb gain at the wheels with their headers. They are expensive and a PITA to install but a good mod.

Re: Grand prix gt ?s

I have a pretty good write-up on how to intall TOG headers

http://members.aol.com/rcd80/headers.html

That should give you an idea on how hard it is.
Also if you don't want to do a cam, 1.9 rockers show a good gain as well. I think about 25hp.
