Question 16G or t28

Which turbo would be better for a daily driver? Which one would need less modification to the engine?

Re: 16G or t28

The T-28 would require less modification because I believe it just bolts on where your stock one is without an install kit. But of course I would recommend doing the supporting mods for the turbo i.e. exhaust, intake, and fuel.

Re: 16G or t28

Does anyone know how much power each will produce on basically a stock engine?

Re: 16G or t28

Please search, this has been a heavly talked about topic. No matter how you look at it the 16g is superior to the "Big T28." The 16g will achieve you more possible power plus they are going for extremely good prices right now. You could walk out the door with a EvoII 16g plus install kit in the neighborhood of 550-600.

Re: 16G or t28

Its not really about the engine since our engines can handle up to 4-450hp. It all depends on your supporting mods and what your goal is. Learn a little bit more before setting a huge goal. dsmtuners.com has a upgrade path listed.

Re: 16G or t28

The Big t28 is rediculously overpriced, I'd get an Evo III 16g, but watch out for the knockoff, the Evo III GT. I know people have had decent experiences with that turbo, but plenty have not and I think a turbo is nothing you should take a chance on.

Re: 16G or t28

16g all the way. The way I see it is that a t-28 is like a 20g. They are good turbos but for the money you could get something better

Re: 16G or t28

16g or t28? Never heard of one problem. Except for those China Evo III GT's. I know, endlessheart, some people have great luck with them, but they are cheaper for a reason and thats not because the best quality materials was put into them. SBR had an article on why they are so shitty, i'll see if I can find it.

Re: 16G or t28

http://www.turbochargers.com/ is sueing SBR for saying that their evo3 16g gt's are shit lol. I dunno though, I'm liking their deal with the real MHI evo3 + ported mani + instal kit for $699 hehe.
