Re: engien question

well the V8 in a '95 is a 4.6L and the V8 that was in the 89 is a 5.0. These two engines share NOTHING in common. The engine would physically fit but you would have to do A LOT of modification to make it work and to mount it. It also will not bolt up to the tranmission that you have in the car now. I would say dont even bother. Especially if its just a stock engine from a '95. I would save up all that time and effort to drop either a really hot 5.0 in it or a cobra engine in it.

Re: engien question

Yeah it should. Im not THAT familiar with the individual 5.0 specs but I believe a 5.0 is a 5.0 is a 5.0. Now this im REALLY not sure about but its just an idea.... drop in a 427 Cobra Jet. THAT would make things move REALLY fast REALLY quick!

Re: engien question

You could contact Ford Racing or you could get ahold of a local engine shop and if they dont build engines they could give you info for a place that does thats local. There are some places out that that you can get a REALLY strong complete engine for fairly cheap. I would suggest an internet search and shop around and explore your options. Visit the TCCOA forums also. There are A LOT more guys over there that REALLY hot rod these cars and could give you really good in depth answers.

Re: engien question

I got 2 words for you " 347 stroker" lol sorry but its my dream engine and love to throw it in every where possible. Any 302 will fit but if it wasnt for the fox body originally u have to change the oil pan for a couple of hunder bucks.

Re: engien question

Well before we go giving you all our dream engines we would like to drop in our cars.... what are you wanting to do with this car exactly? Cause if you want to make this into like a road racer or something a 427 or a 347 might not be the best idea.

Re: engien question

I'm thinking this guys original 5.0 went south, and he just wants to replace it. I'd recommend taking the original motor to the machine shop, having it boiled out, magnafluxed and sonic checked, align honed, bored and honed, crank turned, and new cam bearings and freeze plugs. After that, get a rebuild kit with a hotter cam for fuel injection, and either an aftermarket or GT40 style intake, throttle body, injectors, and computer.
