Re: Help.. Is there a split CV joint Boot for 97 Nissan Pathfinder CV
If you do find one be aware that they are not very good without modifications. Most split boots don't seal very well at the split. Some types have little screws with holes, some have tywraps. In the cases I've experienced, it is most difficult to fasten them together tightly because they get all greasy from the lube provided. I've experienced tearout around the holes after some usage too. A clever friend solved this situation by gluing the split seam on the one for his toyota. He carefully cleaned the seam of ALL grease and dirt so he could do this. It lasted 1-1/2 years but eventually failed by breaking right next to the glued seam.
