Re: Lumina 1998 Relay where i can find it???
the turn signal flasher is located under the dash between the steering column and radio(it's difficult to access). The turn signal/multifunction switch is a very common problem with these cars, and is most likely your issue.

Re: Lumina 1998 Relay where i can find it???
The other is higher up under the dash, between the steering column and the radio/heater controls. By skidded, do you mean the car was in an accident? IF you have a bulb that doesn't light, is missing, broken or burnt out, the side it's on will not flash (thermal type flasher) or will flash very rapidly (electronic flasher). It's a built in safety feature to let you know a bulb is out.

Re: Lumina 1998 Relay where i can find it???
I need to claify what you are saying the car is doing. From what I gather, you're saying:
1. When turned on, the hazard lights flash in the front, but not in the rear? 2. The turn signals don't flash at all, on either side front or rear? 3. No wires appear broken, cut or corroded, and all the bulbs seem OK and no bulbs are missing? Please answer these questions so I'm clear, or clarify which question I have wrong. It will help in assisting you. Also, do all your running lights work front and rear when the headlights are turned on?

Re: Lumina 1998 Relay where i can find it???
Ok, that sounds like a ground back feed issue. The rear lamps are working when the turn signal is turned on because power is backfeeding through the turn signal switch and finding a ground.
To review a bit. The turn signals will not flash if one or more bulbs are inoperative. This is a safety feature built in to let you know that a bulb is out. The hazard switch is wired to allow all good lamps to flash regardless of whether one or more is out. One other question, do your brake lights work in the rear? The reason I'm asking all these questions is that I don't believe the flasher is your problem. All power to the rear lighting is routed through the turn signal switch, and your symptoms are classic of a bad turn signal/multifunction switch (a very common problem on these cars).

Re: Lumina 1998 Relay where i can find it???
I double checked the GM computer, and it only lists one flasher for both the hazard and turn signals on your year Lumina, so your problem has to be in the turn signal/multifunction switch. IF it were the flasher, neither would work.
