'99 Grand Am Sunroof problems

I have a '99 Grand Am that I just started having problems with the sunroof. The motor still seems to be working as the sunroof will still slide forward and back, but it won't seat down in. The front seems to go in just fine, but the back won't go down the final 1/2 to 1 inch to seal. Luckily it is closed most of the way, but we've been getting a lot of rain lately and I need to figure out how to get it to go down in the back and seal. I found a little plastic clip looking thing that I'm wondering if it fell off and that was what helped it to seal. Any help I could get would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: '99 Grand Am Sunroof problems

Welcome to AF!

Sounds like the front seal is in the way, does it open all the way?
IF it does, look in the front of the tracks, the seal is a long black rubber part in front that touches the front of the glass(from underneeth), if the metal is bent up the glass will hit it and not close all the way in the back.

Other than that it would hav to be the tracks needing some grease, not much in the back of the glass to hold it open, just two rubber stopers, one on each side.

Hope this helps !!
