82/86 Sierra C15 Carb trouble

The 6/8 Swap was a success. We ran fine, only the float on the carb was sticking do to the 8 sitting. I added the Lucas gas treatment and that got the Choke light to go out and run with a little hesitation. The next day I thought I'd run some Marvel Mystery Oil through the tank and remove the EGR Valve pluging it with a plate. Since then it's run has been rough, constant shutting off, and smells of gas is present. (Very rich)
Thanks,
David

Does sound like the float is sticking. You will probably have to rebuild the carb to get it to run right. Also make sure that you have the mixture screws set correctly.

The mixture screw? Would that be that little srew located in the front of the carb at the bottom drivers side of the carb?
