University Final Project

Hi everyone out there. I'm an automotive engineering student in the UK. I'm into my final year this coming October. So, I need to crack my brain and come up with an automotive-related individual final project (preferably small-medium scale due to cost, time and most importantly my own capability) in order to graduate. Can anyone suggest anything? No in-car cup holders please.. haha..

Okay, here goes. A hatchback that can turn into a moving barbeque grill. A rear wing that can be converted into a massage table, that's about all it's good for anyway. Oh, oh here come the flames.

On a slightly more serious note - here are some suggestions:

A easy to wear headband or helmet to reduce head injuries from accidents;

A light sensitive headlight control (when it gets dark it activates the light);

A photoelectric laminate mounted on the roof of car attached to a ventilation system (this would prevent the tragedy of the heat-stroke in car by a young child that occurred in Sydney last year);

A crash barrier filled with a combination of tubes of shredded car tyres and carpet waste to minimise impact forces.

Okay, seriously, how about a scanner that counts the amount of brain cells of the driver before he is able to start the car, sort of like the breathalizer, only better, if you're too stupid you shouldn't be driving anyway!
