Pacesetter 4-1 Headers and Overheating

Hi, I just installed a Pacesetter header and catback exhaust system. The car is purring nicely and sounds pretty grunty, to boot. I only have two issues. The major issue is it appears that the header runs RIGHT next to my water pump and cooling lines. I did not get the armor coat, nor have I wraped the pipes yet. I was wondering if anyone else has this configuration on a '99 2200 and is having the same issue?

Lastly, there was some sort of brace that had to be removed from the mid engine somewhere, otherwise the header would not have fit. I have not been able to find reference to this brace anywhere, and while my car is still really stiff (i did the suspension first), it seems as if its just a bit lose. I don't have a strut tower brace yet and a subframe connector is not legal in my SCCA class, so that's out.

Ideas?

Re: Pacesetter 4-1 Headers and Overheating

That's funny, I also installed the 4-1 pacesetter header and my car began to over heat, i had to get a new water pump installed. What sucks is i ordered a 4-2-1 from Summit and they sent me the wrong one, then after calling them they told me they don't even sell 4-2-1's for my car, even tho is says it on the website, f*ckers.

Someone makes 4-2-1, I can't remember who. Lord knows there's enough room up front. Anyhow, its seems as if its gotten better, somehow. Thanks for the input tho. I might just end up replacing the pump to be sure.

Re: Pacesetter 4-1 Headers and Overheating

Yeah I tried figuring out why I was losing coolant and overheating, it was driving me nuts, but it went away for some reason and then about a month later it came back, so i just said screw it, took it to a shop and i ended up spending $226 for parts and labor, those bastards get $75/hr...crazy.
