1997 Jetta MIL code P0102

P0102
Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ Low Input is the most recent fault code from my 1997 Jetta. Could this be a different problem than the Mass Air Flow sensor? I priced these things and they are over $300.00. Help, experience greatly appreciated.

maf sensors are a common problem. Try erasing the code and wiggling the wires on the maf sensor while its running. There were a large amount of harnesses that had bad wire ends. Might just need a 5 wire repair (5 new wires installed for maf sensor, they are special wires "gold plated" but the parts department will be able to help you get the right wires if needed.) Also check the connector, a broken connector that is not seated fully on the sensor will cause that code.

Thanks, I tried wiggling the wires, code came back. Connector does not have any cracks nor is it broken. I ordered a MAF sensor should have by the weekend.
