How difficult is it to replace the intake manifold gaskets?

I just replaced the water pump and all hoses on my '98 Bravada (4.3L). One month later now antifreeze is coming out behind the engine (between the engine and tranny). I "think" it is the intake manifold gaskets. Has anyone replaced these and is it a hard job? I read in Hayes that there's a precaution to take regarding the pressurized fuel lines? Appreciate any help as I have removed everything on top that I had removed when installing the new water pump and am stuck. Appreciate any help.

Re: How difficult is it to replace the intake manifold gaskets?

It's not that bad you have to remove the dist so mark that and use a crows foot to get at the dist bolt, all wiring connections must be removed on top of engine also another problem is disconnecting the egr pipe it is hard becouse it is all rusted up but take your time keep the engine clean inside and you will be fine also the a/c compresser and the P/s bracket must come off it is held on with a bunch of nuts and bolts some that you will have to get from under the truck. oh and aslo don't worry about the fuel lines they will just leak a little fuel when you diconnect then keep your eyes away if you are really concerned start the engine and remove the fuel pump relay to depressurize the fuel system. Gook luck it will be about 5-6 hrs if there are no set backs.

P.s. Be sure to follow tourque for intake manifold to much can crack the plastic gasket
