Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Hi,
Haven't posted here for a while, mainly due to lack of progress on any of my projects mainly due to time and the snow outside putting paid to any chances of getting some decent spraying done. I have, however, worked on a few quick builds over the winter including this one that should be finished this week sometime. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And some pics of the quick builds, Puma Evo, Veilside RX8 and Celica 1600. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Will get some shots of the Evo VI when its complete. Richie

Re: Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Hey welcome back Richie.
![]() That is a super livery on that Evo, you've got it looking awesome. Love your other builds too, particularly the Puma sponsored Evo, is that a rally or drift car? |

Re: Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Awesome work. Bigger pics of the interior if you get the chance please.
We should give big ups to Tamiya for leaving the Evo V suspension and wheels in the kit: It makes projects like this SO much easier. They also left the stock body and suspension components in the Porsche GT3 kit. I wonder, would it be cheaper to make, say, an Impreza WRC kit with both tarmac and gravel suspension parts trees so the 'plastic' bags for the box is always the same, and then the decals, wheels/tires, and any other new parts for a specific version would get slipped into the box in a separate bag. It would greatly simpify production and packaging. It would probably help sales as well: Guys like Richie wouldn't have to wait for the 'other' version of the car to come in when he wants to do a project like this. |

Re: Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Thanks for the feedback guys.
First of all, the Evo VII. This is the Fujimi kit, http://www.hlj.com/product/FUJ18871 I'm not really sure what it is in reality, a Japanese circuit racer I would think. The kit does have a normal street interior though but I guess that's just Fujimi. Steve2003 - A very good point you make about parts for other versions being included in kits. The Evo VI (New Zealand Rally) is great, the only thing not included are tyres for the tarmac wheels. I have slicks on this at the moment as they were handy in my spares box. I actually have an Evo V to build next so when I decided on this version, I just sat with the 2 sheets and copied parts numbers from V to VI, although it's pretty obvious what needs changing etc. Very impressed, think I may build more! I will get more pics up tomorrow, although photography really isn't my strong point, combined with the fact that I am finishing the kit off while on night shifts so the light isn't too good. Richie

Re: Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Yeah, Tamiya's corner-cutting works to our advantage: They just took the Evo V kit, cut the front and rear clip off the body, and added the new body parts and gravel suspension to the box. Not technically correct, but it works great for us since we can mix and match and easily make whatever version of either car we want.
Anybody know if the Evo V/VI suspension will fit the Evo VII? |

Re: Evo VI - Cordoba 2001 San Remo
Well, it's pretty much complete now, just a bit of tidying up to do then move on to something new. Here are a few final(ish) pics.
