'00 Grand Caravan rear window not working

Hi,
I am hoping somebody can help me. The rear passenger window does not work - this is the window activated by the driver. The driver's side rear window is fine.

Does anybody know how to fix this and approximately how much it would be?

Further, it seems that the the passenger front window works going down but is intermittent going up when controlled by the passenger. When controlled by the driver, it is fine.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Re: '00 Grand Caravan rear window not working

Regarding the passenger side front window, sounds like an intermittent fault in the passenger door switch. I suggest living with it until it stops working completely.

Regarding the rear quarter wing windows, the motors will eventually fail over time. I had to replace both wing window motors in my 1998 Town & Country LX AWD. Three years ago, the motors were $65 each from the dealer. I replaced both motors at the same time. Took me an hour with my own tools.

I suggest you test your window as follows:

Have someone apply light pressure against the bad window from the inside. Have someone else operate the window switch. See if the window opens with a little added push. If it does, see if it will close on its own. If not, see if it closes with a little push.

If it opens with help and closes on its own; or opens and closes with a little push, the motor is going bad and needs replacement.

If the window does not move, even with a little push, check the wiring to see that you are getting power to the motor.

You need to loosen and pull away the interior trim panels from the body to access these motors. I posted the procedure in this forum last year in response to someone elses request for information. Search the forum to find it.

Let us know what you find and how you fixed it.
