Cleaning The Eacv.

How Do You Clean The Eacv? My Civic Has A Very Erratic Idle After Warm Up. Hoping This Will Help. Thanks.

Re: Cleaning The Eacv.

Yeah once you unbolt it your going to find two holes, one has a screen...clean that and blast both holes with cleaner generously, the drain and let it dry a little, compressed air helps alot, then blast it again and use the air again, give a good hour to dry completely before you put it back on...and hope it solves your problem!

Re: Cleaning The Eacv.

My idle does the exact same thing, only after it warms up, but, when the idle goes nuts, the engine light comes on. I'm wondering if this happens to all cars when the eacv gets plugged up?

Also, i'm wondering if somebody could tell me exactly where the eacv is located?

Thanks alot.

Keenan

Re: Cleaning The Eacv.

On mpfi cars, eacv is on backside of intake manifold. If your CEL is coming on, pull back passenger floor board carpet and count blinks then go to FAQ sticky and look up the code you have.
