This may have been asked somewhere and answered, but I couldn't find it here. I'm looking into buying a Hi-Lift jack maybe the 48" model should do. Is there a good place on the Xterra to use the Hi-Lift? If so, where is it? So far I haven't had a flat tire (knock on wood) but I can't imagine the stock jack being easy to use off-road or even on the street for that matter.
Any suggestions or is the stock jack more capable than I'm giving it credit for. Sorry for the newbie questions, but thats what your here for, right!

On a stock Xterra there is nowhere to use a Hi-Lift jack.
BTW, the stock jack works fine, we got a flat 32" tire swapped out in 10 minutes last week in a pool of mud in the rain. Surprisingly, after 3 years, the mounting surface of the spare tire took one wipe to clean off before mounting, something many people believe to be impossible.

I have a 48" Hi-Lift and the only point I've found usable is the hitch. The stock jack works better for the Xterra.

"You mean for STOCK Xterra
if you have ARB or Sliders or aftermarket rear bumper Hi lift got good mounting points" Olegkha - that's very true thanks for pointing that out. |

Unfortunately my truck is still stock as far as sliders and bumbers go. That is good information to know though. It may be a good reason to upgrade that stuff (I hope my wife buys into that)
