s14 motor into 1990 S13

Any idea on how much wirng will need to be done to get a harness setup for an S14 into the single cam S13?

We have an RB25DET that came out of an S14 and before I start digging into wiring diagrams I thought I'd see if you guys had any thoughts on this.

Re: s14 motor into 1990 S13

you should be able to figure that out.. its not hard..

look at the engine, find all the sensors and harnesses you need for the engine to simply WORK, then look for things like power steering, brakes, o2 sensors, headlights, windows, whatever. my advice is have someone make a harness for you and have a labelled diagram. thats what we did for my buddy's CA18DET swap.. worked out very well. but really, in the end all you need to do is find the sensors to get the car started and then work up from there. pick what bells and whistles you want and plug 'em in

add: electrical stuff doesn't matter when you're considering what car you're putting shit into. if the engine can fit, then the ecu can fit. and if the ecu can fit, wires can fit. the amount of wiring that will need to be done will solely depend on how much you want in the car

I was hoping that someone would know if any of the s14 plugs with drop right into the SOHC S13 harness. I've already accomplished wiring an RB26 into my S13, so the RB25 will be a cinch compared to that. But I'm doing this swap on company time and will be trying to save this guy some money by finding the easiest way.

I'll do some searching next, thought I might get lucky and someone on here has already replaced their SOHC with an S14 motor or something.

Re: s14 motor into 1990 S13

wait. are you saying putting an s14 ka into an s13??

add: any engine that fits into an 89 240 will fit into a 93 240 and vice versa

Re: s14 motor into 1990 S13

No dude, we have an RB25DET that came out of an S14. I taking the angle of S14 wiring harness into s13 enginebay.
Rather than trying to reverse engineer what they did for the RB25 into the S14, then RB25 into S13, follow?

We'll be fine, just looking to see if anyone knew some shortcuts.

Re: s14 motor into 1990 S13

oh ok, well then my suggestion is to have a generic harness made.. but thats obviously not the only option, neither is it necessarily the best
