Hasegawa Lancer Evo V Wheel Question

Hi,
Just a quick question regarding the Hasegawa Evo V road version for anyone who has built the kit.Is it just me or do the wheels seem a touch on the small side.They don't seem to fill the arches at all,the front ones in particular.The gap seems enormous.Has anybody else noticed this? The Hasegawa Evo VI I built seems fine though.I noticed that Fujimi make a couple of Evo V's are the wheels in these kits any better for size?

I do not have the Hasegawa Evo 5, but the wheels of the Evo 3 and 4 are small. Fujimi's wheels are unfortunately small with a lot of rubber. Best bet is to get some aftermarket wheels.

Hasegawa didn't make an EVO 5 in road version. I have all the Hasegawa EVOs and they have decent wheel sizes. I think you just need to change the tires to fill in the wheel wells.

Keep in mind wheel and tire sizes don't translate well into models. They may scale out properly, and the wheel gap may be right, but they look funny. Just take a look at the Ferraris in the sig in the previous post - those wheels would look awfully small and we'd all complain about the rideheight if those were models.

They did make a road version of the Evo 5, but it has been deleted for a while now:

Stevenoble, judging by the wheels on the car in the picture, they seem to have used the same moulds as found in the Evo 4's kit.

I think you are right.The wheels are from the evo 4 kit.It says evo 4 on the parts sprue.Steve.
