2002 steering has slight bind

I have a 2002 with 36,000 miles and have a slight binding in the steering when moving it left to right when the car is stopped. I don't hear any noise, just feel a slight grab in the wheel. I have heard there is a service bulletin concerning a steering problem but don't know what it says. Any suggestions?

Have you checked the power steering fluid level? There may be a few GM TSBs out concerning steering problems. One on the intermediate steering shaft (ISS) and one on the rack and pinion binding. Any other noises like clunking or power steering whine?

The power steeering fluid is fine. I don't hear any noise, just feel it in the steering wheel.

When the binding occurs does the steering lock up or are you just getting a kickback or modulation type feel?
