How do I remove the window crank so that I can get the panel off so that I can get the window back on track.

Re: Chev s10
I haven't looked at mine, but if it is like most cranks, there is a clip behind the crank itself that holds it to a groove in the splined shaft to which it connects. They make a special tool you can use to get this out which is available at all auto stores, sometimes in the HELP! section (you know that section that has all the weird connectors, etc., that you cannot find anywhere else).
Take a light and push the door panel back enough around the crank and see if you can see this clip. If you can, that is what you need to pull. Hint for re-installing. You can put the clip on the crank and just push it over the splined shaft. The shaft is tapered on the end so it will expand the clip and once it gets to the groove, it will pop back in by itself. later. eti engineer

Re: Chev s10
I got a old screw driver and bent it a little bit and pushed out the connector/pin, then once I was finished put the connector/pin back on the crank and pushed the crank back on the groved spindel, good luck
