01 sportage big gas problem

Last night I put gas in the car filled the tank and this morning I go out and smell gas. Look under the car and there are these white crystals formed underneath and on the ground. Looks similar to something you would see in a cave. Never seen anything like it. Up underneath it looks like the tank is leaking but no white crystals there only on the metal protector underneath and on the ground. What is causing this? Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Please help I am about 100 miles away from home and don't even dare to start my car.
