02 TB Outside Thermometer reading incorrectly

Having issues with the outside temperature gauge reading anywhere between -38 and 50 degrees while driving. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, can you fix it yourself?

Would appreciate any help!

Replace the sensor ($12) located under the plastic cover in front of the radiator on the drivers side.
