Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

Oh yeah, The fuse is blowing as soon as I turn the ignition to the run position, before the car starts. Everything else is working fine.

Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

Try to disconect the blower motor and then replace the fuse. if it blew then there is a dead short. If it doesn't blow after the motor is disconected then it is the motor.

Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

if your heater/ac is turned OFF when you turn on the ignition, its not your blower motor. if that is the case its definetely a short, if its ever had an aftermarket stereo in it, i'd start behind the stereo

Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

Been looking and can't see any crimped or bald wires. How can I get the gear shift handle off? I,m trying to get a good look behind the heat/ac control panel, but the shifter handle is in the way.

Auto, I found the pin in the front, looks like a big staple. I'm gonna look around this evening.

Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

Well, I looked around everywhere I could see. Unplugged all the wires from the control panel and hooked them all back up one at a time to see when the fuse would go, but it never did. Put everything back together and all is working fine again, ...for now.

Re: 91 z24 blowing fuse

could one of the switches be causing this, like the blower or a/c switch, or the ignition switch?
