Question Can I tow a trailer?

My 2000 626 6cyl user manual states "Never tow a trailer with your Mazda". I'm planning an out-of state move and wanted to rent a small UHaul to carry my personal items. The UHaul website shows the correct hitch to purchase for a 2000 Mazda 626. Then I looked at my manual. I'm confused. Can anyone set me straight on this?

If you feel it's worth the risk then try it. Most likely they put that statement in the manual so that if you did do damage to the vehicle, the warranty won't cover it.

Thanks for the input, soapsuds. My adult son just told me the very same thing. Sounds logical to me.
