Is the Greddy blue box like an S-Afc
If the greddy blue box is like an S-Fac then you can use this Apeix unit alone with our upgrading injectors to 450 dsm. This is for 5-8 psi of boost.
Also is it possible to use a V-afc on a motor with out vtec? I want to make a good investment and know that I will go vtec.. |

Dude, I run the Blue Box on 9psi. First of all, what kind of car is this? You didn't specify any info in your last post. If it's the same car, same motor, you don't need to upgrade the injectors. The smart thing would be to buy an inline fuel pump just in case the stock unit decides to stop working for a while or at all when you're racing. That would suck!

Oh, and to answer your question, yes the S-AFC does the same thing the Greddy unit does, but it's adjustable and meant for fine tuning. The blue box is just an "all around" means of not running lean and melting a piston. If you want more power, tuning is where it's at.

Ok bro I got it. Therefore from what you are saying I can install the S-Fac on my twin cam non vtec motor with stock internals (injector, pump, regulator etc) and this will act like a greddy blue box that come with the kit. If i like i can use a pump or FMU if I like but the main thing is that the S-Fac will act like the blue box. The question is there fore why do guys insist on installing bigger injectors for 6 psi? When they should only need the sfac.
Ok another one can i use a V-Fac and disengage the vtec option for now? |

Okay, first of all, having a VTEC motor has nothing to do with those units. As far as why people put on bigger injectors, you've got me! It's probably the same as someone running a N/A Civic with 400cc injectors. It will save you money in the long run if you plan on building the engine and pushing some major boost, but I've pushed 10psi on my Civic all night at the track more than once with the stock injectors, pump and lines with no problems. I have better things to spend my money on, like a new clutch. Actaully, I need a new clutch.

Oh, yes you can use an FMU instead of that unit, but unless it an electronic unit, it won't address the timing issues with more boost. I used the Vortech 8:1 FMU before I put the Blue Box on and it worked great. When I used the EMU (Blue Box), acceleration was smoother and I got better gas mileage, not to mention more power at the lower end. Running both would be overkill, I think, on a basically stock engine with just a turbo. You could possibly overwork the injectors and bust a line or regulator with a setup like that. I'm one for overkill, but that might be pushing it too far. If you want the Vortech FMU, just let me know and I'll sell you mine for $50 (including shipping).
