danger engine damge may occur 3.8
The book on the 3,8 says to rotate cam lobes away from rocker when tightening them or serious damage to engine may occur. could this be a problem even if the cam and crank are in proper alighnment? I failed to read this before I tighten them.

Re: danger engine damge may occur 3.8
I think the hazard is possibly leaving a rocker mount "high" (i.e., an air gap underneath) and having the oil passage open ... therefore not getting lube directed to where it needs to go.
I think if you redid that portion of the reassembly, this time rotating the cam as you go ... you should be just fine. |
