1.9 sohc vtec

just a question, my buddys brother wants to sell me his engine (main bearings went bad) for $250, I thought it was a 1.5 but I got to talking to him and he said it is a 1.9 sohc vtec, now, I have never heard of this before, is there such a thing? or is my presumtion right and it is a d15 stroked, with a vtec head? it came out of a 88-89 crx, when it was runnin that thing was sweet. I want it, but Im trying to make out what exactly the hell it is b4 I buy it. any info?

It's either a stroked engine or he just doesn't know what he's talking about.

I was pretty sure that it was a stroker, It looks to be a d15 bottom end, but what sohc vtec head will fit? I think someone stole the intake manifold already and the ecu went with the car when the body was sold

Any D-series vtec head will fit it.
