Well, I was thumbing through my stack-o-maro catalogs, and was eyeballing the cams/lifter/rockers pretty good, and thought immediately "WTF?"

So I now ask you humbly... what in the hell is the difference between Roller Cams, Hydrolic Cams, Roller rockers and whatever the other ones are called, etc?

My maro has the aluminum roller rockers in it, but aside from exactly what I just said, that means nothing to me.

Honestly, I was thinking that while I have my baby splayed all over my garage, why not put a new cam in so that at least I know what the hell it is. I was looking at the Lunati Voodoo Cams - hydraulic - and didn't know if you can switch between the two, what the real differences are, etc.

Can you fellas enlighten me???

roller rocker arms have a rolller tips and trunions(thinks thats what there called) they look like this

, they create less firction and more power and stamped steel rocker arm looks like this

if you want roller lifter i suggest you select rollerized hydraulic lifter not just roller lifters, they are more streetable. a roller lifter looks like this, yet again it creates more power

and a stock hydraulic lifter looks like this

And oh yeah... I have the roller rockers like the gold ones you posted. Except they're blue and they have "J 1.7" stamped on them. What the hell does that mean???

a tappet is the part of the rocker that hits the valve stem. I would try to go with a kit if your going to upgrade. dont want to be bending rods or anything like that.
