this is
and i am so I have a 92 taurus lx sedan i've had the car for about 6 yrs kept good car of it i got the transmission rebuilt about 3 years ago. Now my problem is this.. When i First start my car up, it has no problem going into gear but once i drive it for about 5 mins it slips out. and wont go into any gear at all but Park. When i stop the car i can move the selector through every gear but nothing happens. It's not engaging and the motor isn't idling down. Almost like i never moved it out of park. I was thinking it was the selector but it has to be something else because when i let it sit for a long time it goes right into Drive. Somebody PLEEEAAASSEEE Help me before i go

Re: 92 taurus transmission issue
I have the exact same problem with my 92 GL Taurus Sedan, started happening about 2 years ago. I found that if I drive in "drive" instead of "overdrive" it doesn't happen at all, then I just switch to "OD" for highway/high speeds, and back to "D" once I slow down again, it's a pain, but it's a work around that gets the job done I guess. I too would like to know what people think of this.

Re: 92 taurus transmission issue
It doesn't matter if im in OD or not, i can select any gear at all, i can't even go into reverse.. so this is not going to work, read my post again please

Re: 92 taurus transmission issue
Read my post again.. I'm talking about starting in Drive, not shifting into drive once the problem has occured. For me this has been a solution to the exact same problem you've discribed, your results may vary.
