instrument cluster wont light up. HELP!!!

I have a 93 1500 and well the cluster has been like this since i bought the truk. None of the lights light up in the cluster and i noticed that when i remote start the truk, it blinks and everything lights up but as soon as i put the key in and step on the brake evewrything shuts off again. And also the a/c controls, when the fog/headlights are off it lights up but ones i turn the healights on it also shuts off... im thinking it might be the set up in the viper alarm????...

Re: instrument cluster wont light up. HELP!!!

Remote starts and alarms are notorious for screwing things up. Mostly because the guys who install them know nothing about cars.(I said mostly but not always) If you take that truck to a shop they will most likely start by tearing all that crap off so they know where they are starting. Thats what I would do and if it still is screwy you have ruled some things out and can start looking for problems without worrying about the aftermarket stuff interfering.
