Air conditioning Recharge

Hey everyone. New to the forum. Anywhere you can go online to look up info on recharging your air conditioning? I have a '97 GTP, 176K miles runs good. Turned on the air and it's just warm. Where is the low intake valve on these things? I don't want to screw it up. Everything is still original parts.

It's been a great car. Give me a little help boys....

Low pressure port is located at the firewall. Can't miss it. Just get a recharge kit with a gauge.

Start by putting in a lb of R134a. If the system is out you'll need it to get the lo/hi pressure switch engaged so the compressor kicks in.

You can't jump it like in the older AC systems. Add 134a refrigerent until the compressor starts working is all you can do. It may take a while so don't give up. Put the AC on Max with hi-blower speed and take rpms up to around 1000 -1500. Hopefully you still have some old refrigerant and enough to get over the low pressure threshold.
