Question 99 Park ave power seat problem

Is there any fix to the tilt motor on the power seat. The motor runs but there is no movement either up or down on the seat.
Back and forth is fine as well as the recliner.
Thanks for any help

Re: 99 Park ave power seat problem

Same thing happened on my 97,dealer wanted $1500 for new seat bottom.I went to a salvage yard w/a chisel in hand(the motor is rivited in) and chiseled my way thru the bracket & took the motor out & was only charged $5.Then just put a cotterpin thru the new motor.Piece of cake. They have PLASTIC gears in them, imagine that, thats what broke.Be sure not to break the plastic interior trim pieces on back of the bottom of the seat taking it out like I did!tom

Hope you have better luck than I did. I was able to buy the entire seat assembly for $200 shipped (car-part.com), and then just swapped out the motor I needed.
