what years are you looking at, seems most problems are being covered under warranties. a lot of electronic doo dads on those beasts to cause problems

Re: Basic non-Bravada Rant

I've been looking at '92-'94 Eldos w/4.9 motor to get away from the Northstar problems but then I still hafta deal with electronics issues in the car and the tranny. I guess there's a tranny fix, I don't know the particulars but the rest of the car troubles. That's probably why they're priced so cheap nowadays too. If I wasn't tied up with my other job/hobby, I'd have more time to spend on keeping even a Northstar Eldo in shape...for whatever reason, they just started to appeal to me the last 6 months. Fixin' to turn 50 and empty nest during the week might have something to do with it. Late father suddenly turned into a devout gun & CB fan when he hit 50.

Re: Basic non-Bravada Rant

i went to carsurvey.org to take a look at caddy owners comments. not a lot of postings on the eldos there but my favorite one was titled "A fantastic car that never stops taking your money". it's a love hate relationship i guess.

i am in line to get my mother inlaw's seville. she gets them used every two years from a friend that buys them new and she drives less than 1k a year, a garaged car 4 yrs old with less than 30k on it. i just turned 50 last month and have a little dog that likes to ride on my lap, i think we will look good in a caddy. maybe get me some bermuda shorts and a floppy hat too.

That's neat! I like the Seville's too.
There's a water free coolant that might solve some of the Northstar problems.
This site has a Cadillac section and "Maxwedge" used to be a Cadillac dealer mechanic and he's a great source of advice and info.
