1.8LT vs 2.6L A4 (performance)
hey,
i was wondering whether if 1.8LT would be faster than a 2.6L if they both had performance upgrades for the same amount of money for each. Which one would be faster? thanks |

Re: 1.8LT vs 2.6L A4 (performance)
Their are no tuning parts for the 2.6 and 1 1.8T will eat the 2.6 in stand form and just a chip would kill it.
Only the 2.8 30v would be able to beat it stand wise and offers any tuning options but at the end of the day the 1.8T would beat it in the end with tuning to the max on both cars. So if you looking to tune a car then the 1.8T offers more but the 2.8 can be Supercharged to offer some good power. Before you ask why, I own both a 2.8 30v Supercharged and a mildly tuned 1.8T

Re: 1.8LT vs 2.6L A4 (performance)
The 1.8T A4 has more mod potential. You can go BT(big turbo) and run up to around 350HP on the stock 1.8l block. Then theres always making your 1.8 into a 2.0( along with some built internals), then you could run a bigger turbo, and up the boost to run 500+ hp. It all depends how crazy you want to get with it.

when you are talking about 500+hp are you referring to flywheel or to the wheels cause there is a diference?
