Battery acid on terminals
I just replaced my battery in a 2002 Accord EX V6 because the old one was bad and had severe acid build-up on the posts. It was replaced with an OPTIMA, but there is still some battery acid around the post and some on the cables, not as much as before...what is causing this? Also, my SRS light stays on...could it have happened when they changed the battery or is it coincidental? Tried to jumper with a paperclip, but the light won't even turn off after 6 seconds. Thanks in advance.

Re: Battery acid on terminals
Acid, or corrosion? Corrosion is a natural by-product of humidity and electrical contacts, acid is leakage from the battery itself.
Clean the cable clamps and terminals with some WD-40, then coat all surfaces with a thin layer of chassis grease and put them back on...you'll never see corrosion again.

Re: Battery acid on terminals
I'd recommend vaseline rather than chassis grease. Chassis grease is an insulator.
