1995 Sierra Code 32
Anyone run into a code 32 on their truck? I know its the egr circuit, but is there a common component that causes this fault code? Egr valve, solenoid, control switch?

Re: 1995 Sierra Code 32
Code 32 is set when the EGR valve is not opening at all.
This could be a bad EGR valve, Solenoid or vacuum problem (broken hose, clogged vacuum port). You need a vacuum gauge and pump to test all of the components. Engine off, apply vacuum to the EGR valve. It should hold vacuum. If not replace EGR. If it holds, start the engine and the vacuum should drop to zero. If not, replace EGR. To test the solenoid, you need to jumper A & B on the ALDL connector. Ignition on and with A & B jumpered, apply vacuum to TBI side and verify that you see the same vacuum on the EGR side. Engine off and remove the jumper on A & B, verify that the solenoid holds vacuum when applied to the TBI side. If it does not hold vacuum, replace the solenoid. Hope that helps. //2000CAYukon |

I forgot to mention that electrical issues are also possible. Make sure the connector to the solenoid is still in place and that the wires look good.
