Question Internet Explorer

Ok well I got a wireless card for my laptop and it finds my router and connects with no problems but then when I go to Internet explorer it says page cannot be found or dns error. What do I have to do does this have to do with me having the windows xp pro sp2 because I've seen many forums saying that the sp2 had many bugs with the networking. So if you guys know what I should do that would help alot. I also might consider installing the Windows xp home edition.

Re: Internet Explorer

this is a common problem... check your router config and copy down the 2 dns's that it uses... then go to your comps config and take it off auto [for dns] and add those DNS's the router uses... and you should be set to go.

Re: Internet Explorer

On your laptop, open a command prompt by clicking on Start, clicking Run and typing 'cmd' (without ') and enter.

Type 'ipconfig /all' and then paste here the following info:

IP Address
Default Gateway
DNS Servers

And we can try and help you some more.

No worries, our pleasure.

Your first mistake was using Internet Exploder.
