91 'Teg GS

What can i do with it? Any ideas on the motor? It's a siezed motor right now because the car was stolen from a repair shop and driven without any oil. Should i rebuild the block, or buy a complete GSR and put in new pistons, rods, valves, springs and all the good internals. In the future, it will have a turbo, normal i/h/e, cf hood, it's already lowered, and i'm not sure what else, but first question first....rebuild the block or buy a new one? I don't think the block is damaged enough for it to not be rebuildable, but who knows until i get the head off it...

usually when a motor seizes the block is not salvageable, so i would go for the swap

Hmm....sweet....i can feel my bank account draining....any idea how much for a gsr into a gs? I don't need a motor mount kit to do it, do i? and also is the clutch going to work in the gsr? it came with a stage 2 clutch fromm.....Atc i think...and i'd like to keep it if possible...

Re: 91 'Teg GS

you will need 94+ mounts i believe and as for the clutch i'm not sure, maybe cross reference the numbers from ATC website or give 'em a call

Re: 91 'Teg GS

Would it be cheaper/easier to buy a new gs motor? I have a buddy who wants to sell me his with stock internals for 200 with about 140k on them. I'm going to rebuild internals anyways, and i have access to boring and honing machines. Or should i just go with the gsr? Or maybe a ls/vtec combo? Also, what is the engine code for the gs? I'm looking but for some stupid reason none of the pages will load except for this one and aol

Re: 91 'Teg GS

gs motor will run you cheaper but gsr is better but your going to pay more, about 1800 or so for engine and trans

the code for the rs/gs/ls is B18B (newer) or B18A (older)

Would it be cheaper to go with a gsr swap or an ls/vtec combo?

Re: 91 'Teg GS

Yeah i'd love to do a gsr into my teg. But there's that whole money issue...Unless you know where i can pick up a gsr for cheap? (under 2k w/ tranny, unless my tranny from my b18a1 will fit in the gsr? *crosses fingers* also, will the clutch fit, even if the tranny wont? I asked earlier but i figured you'd know kicker...like i said, b18a1 performance clutch...b18c1 motor....will it swap?
