NJ Collector Car Inspection

Anybody from Jersey ever go through the DMV with their car as a Collector? I'm thinking of attempting to go through inspection like that...there's no way I'm passing with this new motor. It's different from the whole Historic vehicle thing. There's this guy my best friend knows who has a 96 Impala, and he has all this crap done to the motor with no cat or emissions and a carb, etc. and got through inspection for $25 with the Collector Inspection. Apparently all they do is inspect the saftey features and the odometer reading. http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/cleanair/...nspection.html

Re: NJ Collector Car Inspection

In PA they'd laugh you out of the inspection station if you tried that. And if you somehow managed to pull it off and got pulled over for ANYHTING and the cop wanted to be a jerk... BIG TROUBLE... big trouble... jail time, body cavity searches... the whole 9 yards.

Seriously though, over here it's a DMV thing, classic tags and the INS companies won't insure a car with classic tags if you go over their mileage restrictions. In PA classic has to be 15 years old and true to original. Sorta like antique tags.

Sorry sweetness. I honestly have no idea so I'll shut up now.

Well... it helps if you have a caved in grill with some deer hair and blood all over. They figure you made it to the inspection station without killing yourslef or anyone else so your veeeehikle's gotsta be okaaay.

Oh and Montana the car gets stickers when it's made and that's all she wrote... good till the day it gets planted... or parked indefinitely in some remote corner of a farm. AND they have no speed limits (at least during the day) and the real estate tax is next to nothing, and they have no income tax (last I heard anyway)... ***wonders to self*** "what the hell am I still in PA for???"

You're on brother. I'll bring the cheesesteaks. But uh... we'll have to mapquest that sumbich b/c I get lost in northern Jersey REAL quick.

My sister lives in Lawrenceville... only go up there 3 or 4 times a year, and get lost (once I get off 295) like damn near every time. lol.

But yeah, I get her reliable... and you're on.
