Hey guys,
It's been a while since i have been here and I apologize. just been a bad few months. Anyways, I started working on my 93 Mustang again to find out what the problem was with the Tranny. I was an idiot and put the old torque converter in when I swapped out trannys. I know I should have went with the one that came with the other trans. Anyways, I believe I put n the wrong pilot shaft and found the teeth to be sheered off of it, but the main concern is. What chemical f any can I use to clean out a torque converter. I need an answer ASAP if possible. Please?!?!. I have to get this car back on the road. It's my personal driver and my favorite. You know what I mean? Any help would be great thanks. |

Re: Torque Converter Cleaning
Really cant clean one out unless you cut it open. Best thing I know to do is just to let it drain for a few days or atleast overnight.

Re: Torque Converter Cleaning
I got an opinion from a Master Mechanic and he said to just rinse it out with a quart of Trans fluid, drain it then do it one more time. The converter has been sitting for a long time and I am afraid it may have dirt in it.
