2002 Lincoln LS Tire Question

I am in need of a new set of tires. I current am running 235/50/17 tires on there now, but after looking it seems thats an odd size and are expensive.

Either way, is there a better size to run on my 2002 Lincoln ls? I have a V6 and have 17" chrome factory wheels on it. Would going to 245/45/17 affect my speedometer and things or not??

What tire size would you recommend I go to and is there one better than the other for an 02 Lincoln LS?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: 2002 Lincoln LS Tire Question

245/45-17 is a Mustang size, so pricing is pretty good. Fit is fine, but it will lower your ride height some and won;t fill out the wheel wells as much. Some don't notice, some do.

Yes, it makes your speedo read a bit fast. Otherwise, no functional issues.

Re: 2002 Lincoln LS Tire Question

I run 245/45-17s - currently using Goddyear F1 GS-D3s.

click on my signature to see pics if you are interested. remember - I am lowered so the wheel gap is not an issue.

Re: 2002 Lincoln LS Tire Question

Does lowering these car throw off the camber? Will the inside of the tire wear down quicker than the rest?

Re: 2002 Lincoln LS Tire Question

yes to both questions.

the 'acceptable' camber for street use is usually considered no more than 1.5 degrees - which is what I am at. Since I autocross - that's where I like it anyway.
